I love this, minimal and can have some comforts for the kids.
Is this property still for sale?
i am super
curious about the solar setup in $8000 river fromt cabin. do they have a diagram of what they used for materials amd what type of lithium ion batteriers were used (brand) We have a skoolie and want to add solar to her. Please let us know as much detail please.
thank you amd god bless
Jeff
Not necessarily Li-ion batteries Jeff. I’ve been using standard 12v deep cycle batteries for many years, and have been on complete solar power for 12 years. There is a wealth of information out there as far as solar projects, with much coming from the University of El Paso.
Very cool. I really like this one
I would say they are expecting flooding in that area- like the simplicity of the Cabin
A big like for this cabin design. So many pluses with the building set up high and the screened porch to add outside living areas and possibilities for storage. The simplicity of the design and setup is very appealing for a country cabin.
Love this! I can’t believe it cost $8k to build this…. really? Were the materials obtained for free or repurposed from building sites or demolition sites? The simplicity is outstanding. Nothing fancy, just plain, rustic and comfortable in a beautiful setting.
good job! I am surprised that their system gets so much from only 3 solar panels. Does the $8000 cost of build include the solar set UP? If so, that is amazing.
I agree with Sally. Unless much of the material was obtained free there is no way this structure came in at a cost around $8,000. I see pressure treated lumber throughout and I know the costs of those materials.
Really cool cabin! I do have one concern. Is it safe to use pressure treated lumber in the interior of a structure? I know they have made improvements recently in the treating chemicals, but it seems like there is a lot of exposed wood.
Nice
You can see the guide wires for a power pole, how is that off grid? I was wondering how that small solar setup was running that a/c.
