  1. I definitely like the floor plan and see some areas that can be improved such as putting drawers under the couches for more storage and changing out the vessel sink for a sink with storage underneath for at least cleaning supplies but otherwise very beautiful…I think everyone is more interested in how much it cost to build not how much to buy and I’m also interested as well…great job!

  2. I believe the idea behind “tiny houses” is more than square feet but also a way of living. This house is darling. I can definitely see ways of making it smaller and better use of some space, but for a family of four as a permanent residence it is ideal. One day those “little” ones will be “big” teenagers and essentially 4 adults in that space. Very nice.

  3. This humble house is why I first became a subscriber to TINY HOUSE SWOON. I think it’s perfection. I could live in it quite happily as is, but might contrast its near shaker simplicity with a few really key pieces of modernist art, an odd upholstered piece or two and more interesting lighting to accent its’ ample sumptuousness. Somehow I am going to find a way to build a similar home with effortless grace, a practical layout and ample ease that will be “off grid” and naturally sustainable with the lowest carbon footprint I could leave. Whether shipping containers, salvaged woods and materials, or just hay and mud … I’M READY! A different “rat race” of sorts lol . Thank You T.H.S. !!!

    • I emailed jessica’s Interior design business and the Secratary emailed me back a link to a spread of this home in Oprah’s magazine. In that article was a simple layout plan with approx dimensions. Enough to use for the beginnings of an official blueprint. I had to add an extra 500 sq ft to accommodate my family. Hoping to build it on my families farm land in the future. Off grid. In the woods. This is my most favorite small home of all.

  4. Beautiful home! To the ones wondering about dimensions, just by looking at the pictures I can tell that it is about 15′ or 16′ wide. So the length should be 36′ or 34′,since it says that it is a 540 square feet home.
