yikes….scary electrical…… good luck
HDR has a way of making even the nicest camper look like HELL ON EARTH.
Looks to me like a rolling fire disaster waiting to happen….
Total time warp! Looks like an old bus I once knew way back when. Very odd look to the photos, kind of looked like hyper realistic paintings at first.
This bus reminds me of a post-apocalyptic nightmare … Road Warrior meets Woodstock. Dirt and grime are not improved by the high def photos. LOL
I certainly understand the commitment and drive needed to attempt this and it is laudable. That said, the sink plumbed to a open five gallon bucket is a nasty accident waiting to happen. The water hose looks like it is not rated for drinking water, no big deal for occassional use but there are better options.
The electrical has been commented on previously.
I guess the real issue is your target audience. The overall appearance is easy rider communal and appealing to a nostalgic demo or even someone still immersed in psychedelics. I am not saying any one this is psychedelic rather it is the whole picture.
my suggestion, and this has no real value, since you are intent on evangelizing sustainability would be to consider your target audience and design the interior to appeal to them in a fashion that allows themto imagine themselves living there and not forced to relocate due to an apocalypse.
on a personal note, I think it is pretty groovy and reminds me of my childhood.
I’m sure there’s a name for that filter, but this photo series is proof I’d never use it in my life.
It completely detracts from the sustainability they’re trying to promote, it completely detracts from the trailer they’re trying to present.
Yup, too dirty, nice pictures, wouldn’t eat anything out of their kitchen! Over all not very appealing in terms of living in something like that, maybe traveling short term. Why does sustainability have to translate into the hippy look? Most people are not going to be turned on by this. There are a lot of nice looking bus conversions that look nice.
That being said, I do like the idea of reusing materials and recycling to create a living space and sustain day to day life. I priced out building a tiny house for me and my two kids and home office, and doing much of it new or slightly used is more expensive than I’d like it to be, so any ideas for reuse of materials is much appreciated.
traveling around the country, lecturing on sustainability.
hmmm.
i love it. i’m a 69 year old freak. if you would what kind of fuel mileage do you get? as long as you are having to much fun all is well.
peaceup raz
” a low-impact mobile unit that will travel the country and teach communities about sustainability, communication, and the power of love. ”
sounds like another spin on a reason for a project that needs others cash to finance some travel and a roof for those that aren’t really convinced they can or even want to do it. Send me cash. I’m all for love and pole fishing.
This thing is a mess, built out of garbage and I’m completely in love with it. I’m not sure I’d want to try to sell the idea of sustainable living to the masses with it, or even live in it myself. However the post apocalyptic chic makes the whole thing into a work of art. I think it drives home a similar point to Earthships, that there’s so much junk out there and you can take advantage of that! There’s very little on this bus I couldn’t source for free or cheap.
And as for the demographic, I believe there’s people this can appeal to. I’m sure not everyone considers themselves handy enough to build their own tiny home, and can’t afford to have one built. This bus proves that no matter who you are, how little money or skill you possess, you can have a home and be free.
