  1. So beautifully done. Love the blue with white trim exterior and the yellow interior. i like a nice size fridge that is not under the counter, hate bending over to look in the fridge. and building the deck and porch around the house is brilliant.
Only thing against it is no dormers in the loft, i just dont consider them anymore, way too claustrophobic.

    • I agree. This house is lovely, but the loft is too confining. A shed roof would be so much better. Also, the shower is problematic, with the spray pointing at the window and a wooden wall. Perhaps an awning window placed high up on the wall? Does anyone have info on the toilet?

      • Hello SC, Thank You for your compliment! Regarding sleeping, we both sleep on the day beds below. We store linens under the bed in a drawer that rolls out. The mattresses are very comfortable regular twin mattresses. Only our kids sleep in the loft, when we let them visit, lol.

The shower is set into the fiberglass enclosed area and there is a shower curtain that is not shown. The pic may be deceiving in looking like it doesn’t. The shower is very roomy. The toilet is a marine R.V. toilet that you can purchase at R.V. stores. It flushes into an R.V. holding tank that we have pumped out by a septic service when needed, (roughly every few months).

Thank You for liking our tiny house. For more info, visit our Facebook page, then go to “Photos”, and then “Albums”. We have an album detailing the building process.

        • Glenn and Lawson,
My family has been going to st.geoge for almost 45 years. Since we moved around a lot, I consider it home. Other members of my family have purchased homes on the beach. Unfortunately, most everything is beyond my financial reach or or simply ugly. I love, love your place. If you ever would want to sell it, please let me know. Thank you so much. Ginny Blackburn

    • Hello Echols,

I like the way you think. We had bought a flat screen TV for the tiny house. We changed our mind and use at home as I didn’t want to be tempted to watch too much TV when visiting the island, LOL. Having internet with our Verizon 4-G network works just fine and we can watch movies on our laptop too when we bring DVDs.

We may add a TV later as we did inquire with the cable company about cable TV and internet, which would work out fine.

      Thanks for your comment!

  2. I’ve been looking at TONS of tiny homes and this is by far my favorite layout. Can you tell me, how did you go about getting it certified a legal rv? And what are the dimensions? I just simply can’t explain how much I love what you’ve done here.

    • Greetings Mei! Thank You for your kind words. It was very important for us to find a tiny house builder that could also certify it as an R.V. We found Brian Scobey and Jim Turley of SignaTour Campers, based in Tampa. They did a meticulous job and with it being officially a registered R.V. with the Department of Motor Vehicles, that made us legal with the county’s own regulations, even though the county still didn’t like it.

The tiny house is 8×24. For more details, visit our Facebook page, go to Photos, then Albums and look for the album that explains the building process.

Thank You for liking our tiny house!

      • Hi, We’re very interested in doing the same thing as you did. Can you tell me what the regulation is for RVs? We have an actual Travel Trailer that we would like to set up and remove when we aren’t there. We would want Water, Electric and septic. Do you think this would work? Thanks for your help!

  3. I love love love this tiny house! FINALLY a tiny house builder that understands how important it is to have a large couch! All of the other tiny homes have a lil tiny couch or tiny chairs. With a couch this size you can actually have people over and sit comfortably, you can use them for additional sleeping areas, and pull up some tv trays and actually have a nice sit down dinner.

I don’t have Facebook so I’m unable to access further info via the link. Can someone tell me who the builder of this wonderful tiny house is?

I agree that the only downfall is that the loft doesn’t have dormers. Other than that, the house is perfect! Oh, one last thing, what are the dimensions of this house? 24 ft long?

  4. Genius design! LOVE the colour, the layout, the nice appliances and especially the L-shaped lounge area. 😀 Exceedingly well crafted and lovingly put together. I’m claustrophobic so I couldn’t “do” the loft but the double couches in the lounge would take care of that for me. Thanks so much for sharing your gem with us. <3

  5. I love, love, love this tiny house. It shows you can have all of the conveniences of a modern kitchen with a full size sink, instead of a cutsy tiny round sink that isn’t useful. I love that she has all of the appliances you would usually need instead of a two burner stove top. I would like dormers, too and a larger shower. I love that they covered the hitch and they have a side entrance. I don’t care for the entrance at the end as I think it takes up valuable space. I love the room around the toilet. The company that built this needs to update their website to show they build tiny houses and not just small travel trailers. If you start with a company that understands about building travel trailers, they understand about putting in fresh water tanks and holding tanks more than builders who don’t think like those who build travel trailers.

  6. This is remarkable. I could definitely live in this tiny house, it is set up neatly with colours I adore. In a tropical setting it would be ideal. BTW…my Grandfather’s name was Lawson Smith, from New Boston, NH…now that is remarkable in it’s own sense…x

    • Hi Cassandra, I saw your post and wanted to tell you that Mitsubishi and Samsung carry excellent mini-split a/c systems for small (or larger) spaces. They’re amazingly energy efficient, comfortable and best of all, super quiet. The outdoor condensing unit is far smaller than the usual ones for homes. The amount of power it take to run uses a fraction of the energy we’re used to paying for to run a typical DX split system or heat pump. You should be able to find a LOT of available information on the internet. Be sure to work with a reputable contractor who sizes the system perfectly for the space to be conditioned and uses educated, experience technicians to install it for your home. Once you get it installed, I promise you’ll love it and tell everyone about how great it is. Good luck!

  7. I think I’d be much happier if I eventually downsize similar to this. A sleeping loft would be at the top of my list, but think I’d like skylights to let in some moonlight and stars. My dream is to locate somewhere in the Northwest outside of a city with a big lot and lots of animals. The AC unit is the thing of the future. Mini-split systems are all over Europe and Asia and are super energy efficient, small and QUIET. Many manufacturer’s carry excellent mini-split systems, either stand alone or ducted. Try searching Mitsubishi, Samsung, etc. Top of the line equipment. (AC is my business.) As far as the living space, I think it’s perfect to have such smart storage and a place for everything. I feel it would provide a sense of freedom to get rid of all the extra baggage of a traditional home. Now I just need to start planning and looking at the success stories of other smart pioneers in the tiny house world. Thanks for sharing the photos and info to encourage others!
