Very very proud to present the long awaited Helga in all her finished glory. When Helga first arrived she was still very much a horse-box (complete with hay and poo!) We fully stripped the box, planed the timber back and blasted and repainted the frame. With the addition of lots of engineering and customisations, we built her back up from scratch and added heaps of off-grid wizardry behind the scenes so that her owners can truly be home, wherever in the world they choose to park up.

A horse box converted into a traveling house truck tiny house. Built and shared by House-Box in Somerset, South-West England.

  1. Wow! So many details I love, but mostly that control panel for the water and solar. Why hide it when you can make it look that cool? I prefer this look to all those red led digital displays, even if I need a flashlight to see it in the dark.

  2. I pretty much love this- I bet it smells great inside!
I would have to figure out someplace to hang clothes, but other than that it is really livable.
It’s also rather imposing looking. I mean, who would break into such a tuff looking rig? :->

  3. Being a custom builder, this is a very creative build. Nice use of rasp and soft edge rough timbers. You can tell by looking that this project was a labor of love that is likely un-valuable to the owner. Enjoy your rolling creation. :0)

  4. Wow!! Outstanding. From the clever fitting of branch into wall ideas to the door framing to the puddle of concrete (I guess) at the base of the stove to the pull out counter over the sink… Wow!! Good job!
