    • Luv…drooling….lusting….everything except the ladder. Hoe do I get my 55lb standard poodle to bed! Or myself? The kitchen is the best I’ve seen.

Btw..I have a now 5 yr old 16x 60 foot mobile home which cost 26,000.00 I am putting in new barnboard looking floors and eventually new cabinets. I am having the vinyl ugly siding removed and industrial steel will replace it. Also a tornado shelter built underneath the wooden ( yes, screened in ) little front porch. These things have to be built to HUD specs!! That ‘s good! I love it …it’s on the Mississippi bayous and I have no bills except utilities and ins and taxes.
      Hugs

      • Great news on your new mobile home and good luck with the renovations. I hope you don’t forget to upload photos to this site when finished as I for one would love to see your new home.

        Good luck with it.

  1. Beautiful. I always love seeing a washer. This tiny house appears to have a negative feature I seem to see in most tiny houses. The “couch” is too high off the ground and not deep enough.

  2. Such a nice tiny house. But the price tag is just insane, you can buy a nice house with lot for that kind of money. People are going into a different direction with this tiny house movement. SMH

  3. And this is what tiny living will go to when people completely miss the whole idea of the movement! 80 grand???? Great now you can have a tinyhouse and the debt to go with it! Might as well just buy an RV and do some traveling. This is made for yuppies who want a tinyhouse in the backyard of their McMansions!!! Thank you TLC for your help deforming a great idea!

  4. Well done, but the price is just silly. It’s just not worth it. Even in Vt, $80,000 will get you well on your way to much nicer piece of property and if you would like to travel….there are MANY other options.

Stop with the over the top pricing, it’s getting old.

    • I wonder if the price includes the LOVE GURU that sits in the loft with you!! 🙂 I personally am disappointed that more owner built houses aren’t posted here instead of crazy, over-the-top, company ads!! Sorry, but the profit margins on this build are way over the top………. and not modern art!!

    • Hello, BUILDER here. Just wanted to comment on the talk over the price. Unfortunately the price is entirely driven by what it cost us to build the RV. I am also the designer. I “swoon” over tiny homes online all the time. I took some of my favorite things from tiny homes and tried to combine it with ideas I appreciate in regular sized homes, Like an open layout. All our materials are as sustainable and local as possible – as you know this is a costly choice. Even the reclaimed wood cost a fortune after labor was factored in. We hand picked all the pieces from a collector in town, they washed and kiln dried it for a week. Then I spent a day ripping, cutting, and designing a layout that took into account color and size, and of course the overall feel. This is a unit for people that want to be surrounded by beauty and painstaking craftsmanship. The only way we can bring the cost / price down is to compromise on craftsmanship, material choices, and workplace moral (we give our workers good pay and benefits). We can only hope that there are tiny home buyers that recognize & appreciate what we’re trying to create. There is no possible way to meet everyone’s needs – but I do try. I have 15 more designs sitting on my desk right now. I’d love to run them by you all some how. Thank you for all your feedback!!

      • Builder, good for you guys! I hope you can make a go at it. As the Owner of Shelter Wise and designer/builder of the Miter Box ( I see you liked some aspects of our design:) Don’t let the comments on price get ya down, there are plenty of craigslist builders out there that will build these commenters there “20k tiny house” and they will get what they paid for.

      • Beleive it or not I am a builder also. My wife and I are atinyhomecompanion. Obviously, ours wasn’t built for profit but as an actual place to live! Not a place that requires a DEATH CONTRACT to afford. Our house was built with new materials (not Craigslist stuff) and we personally built and constructed every part of our home and it is insulting to me to say that because yours is built with local lumber that it should have an outrageous pricetag on it! There are plenty of companies out there that are building homes everybit as nice and beautiful as this one that cost half what this one does! Anyone that buys a THOW for this kind of money has more cash than brains!

        • Anyone that believes that materials are the reason for this kind of price tag are out of touch with reality! Good luck Green Leaf Tinyhomes in your endeavors to make millions of dollars selling to fools! Thank you for making tinyhouses that reflect the current state of our cost of living! I would love to pick this place apart, one piece of material at a time and show everyone how full of manure you are but, I won’t. Instead I’ll just say to you and to Mr Miterbox that your companies are both total wastes of money! Tennessee tinyhomes and many others are building cheaper, stylish, and waaay more cost effectively than you guys are!!

How dare you say that spending less money gets an inferior product! You both are full of yourselves!

    • I can agree with your comment, but the others above? Everybody up there is missing the point. The point is NOT to have a 3br house on two acres AND paying the taxes, utilities and maintenance that go along with it. The point is that the buyer is getting the best-quality craftsmanship that her money can buy, and she can still afford a nice life without all the encumbrances that come with a stick-built home on a foundation. Is it so hard to see beyond the misery of your own lives that you cannot bear to see others enjoying their’s? The home is her own, nobody else’s, and she can put it wherever she wants, whenever she wants, without regard for anyone else’s stupid complaints about how “stupid” she is. SHE is a genius and has found a way to be happy in a way that none of those above will ever enjoy.

  5. I am astonished at people complaining about the price….. This house is gorgeous, with excellent craftsmanship and planning of the space. If you wish to live in a rural southern area within the USA or in a third world country, then it is possible to buy a small house and land for under $100k A ktichen and bath and bedroom all cost the same regardless of ultimate square footage. If you only want a roof, a bed and a litter box toilet, it is possible to get a tiny house very cheaply. We see them posted here often. HOWEVER, if you want a $100,000 tiny house, it will cost $100,000, not $30,000.

  6. Does everyone realize that’s about $335.00 a square foot? That is insane…have a bigger home where you won’t bump into someone every time you make a move for a 100.00 a square foot. Be sensible…that isn’t living. At least 300-400 s.f. and alot cheaper…so you can actually have some money left in the bank.

  7. This tiny home is a fantasy of mine. As a disabled individual, I see myself being 100 percent self sufficient. To not have to rely on others due to the compact and amazing use of space, makes me giddy!!!

  8. Did anyone else notice the random blue lamp making several awkward appearances. In one shot its lying on the floor… lol Beautiful home though, and I think the price seems about right to me. There is a lot of nice decor that I’m sure adds up. Like the fancy cabinets for one thing.

  9. Bonjour, j’aimerais beaucoup savoir combien vaut environ une mini maison je prends ma retraite dans 5 ans et j’aimerais avoir une mini maison ppour faire le tour du Québec et y vivre le reste de ma vie
    Merci

  10. I don’t understand the hate! If someone wants to pay this much for a tiny home why do you care? If no one buys them, they will have to find a way to cut costs. I appreciate that they pay well. So a side comment on the price is fine but good grief cool your jets. Lovely home.
