For much of the last century, Moulin 85 was a working mill, supplying flour to local boulangeries and pâtisseries. The current owners saved the disused building. Thorough labor of love renovation, and it’s now one of the quirkiest choices for a relaxing break in the beautiful Vendée area on France’s west coast.

Just outside the village of St Cyr des Gats, Moulin 85 has all the cozy charm cottage you would expect. From a rustic old mill, but it doesn’t disappoint on home comforts. Explore the four floors, and you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen with granite surfaces. There is an open fireplace to keep you warm and snug in the living room. It is followed by a modern and stylish bathroom with a shower.

Right at the top, the last flight of wrought iron stairs leads you to the romantic bedroom. Absolutely, offering beautiful views of the unspoilt locality. Think acres of farmland and tree-lined vistas… nothing better to give you that tranquil feeling of idyllic French rural life. Moulin 85 is a perfect escape from a stressful life.
