The appeal of living a more nomadic lifestyle represents a new take on the American Dream, especially among students in this millennial generation. Lots of writing on the millennials suggests that our suburban growth model perpetuated over the last 50-60 years is starting to come to and end.

It’s got its own solar system to power itself, and a bath and kitchen are independently supplied by rainwater. At the end of the day, you just need the environment to sustain yourself. You’re not tied down to a piece of land and be stuck somewhere. You can really go anywhere and do anything.

A 70 square feet “living system” with a composting toilet, rainwater collection system and solar power that is super lightweight and can be towed by almost any car. Built by REED students at Green Mountain College in Vermont. Shared by Kevin Coburn.

  1. Very impressive design guys! I love the shape compared to the average stick and panel tiny house on a trailer. Should pull well. I’m curious how you made out with the toilet. I’ve looked into that design myself and disposal of waste is always the tough part, especially in a colder climate where you can’t just bury the compost in winter.

  2. While tiny home living all sounds like a good idea but if you stop and think about it you will leave a far greater environmental impact because people will be shitting everywhere cutting down trees to stay warm and cook while cutting each other‘s throat‘s to live close enough to water because they can’t drill well and tie in.. Man made global warming and climate change is a hoax as the climate on this earthly plane has cycled warmer and cooler since the beginning of time.. When the good Lord said go forth and be fruitful he meant do you want to you to raise lots of children and not live a selfish life… Try raising five children having a full-time job banging a drum telling everybody your holier than thou for saving the environment that was never in danger in the first place. when the good Lord said go forth and be fruitful he meant he wanted you to raise lots of children and not live a selfish life… Try raising five children having a full-time job banging a drum telling everybody your holier than thou perceiving the environment that was never in danger in the first place..!! Good ice fishing shack though.!!
