The Mountain Mist looks pretty small, albeit a bit larger than some of the other tiny properties. I’ve been checking out a number of cute tiny rustic accommodations that are all located on the same property near Newport, TN lately in the Smoky Mountains (i.e. the Tiny Fox or Tiny Owl) on the property. Let’s explore.
This is the secluded approach to the Mountain Mist cabin, which the owner also sometimes refers to as the “Rustic Mountain Retreat.” He says that it “is absolutely perfect for the adventure seeker in you and those that just want purely a private setting for rest and relaxation.”
One of the most exciting aspects of staying at the Mountain Mist is that you get to cook your own meals and stay healthy on vacation. You have a stove, fridge and freezer, and lots of room to work in the rustic kitchen. To the right, steps lead up to a loft, and between the stairs and the fridge, a short hall leads to another room
A coffeemaker is provided for your convenience. You even will receive complimentary local honey which you can use to sweeten up your favorite warm beverages. Looking for a fast, easy, satisfying breakfast? A wafflemaker awaits. There are also a few other helpful kitchen appliances provided to guests.
The property is situated right on the edge of the Cherokee National Forest.
There is a spacious living room combined with the kitchen, and behind it, huge windows looking out on the Smoky Mountains.
Want to sit outside, but stay warm in the crisp mountain air? There is a sheltered hot tub waiting for you.
Based on this view of the kitchen and living room, I would say that this does look like it probably is a tiny house, albeit on the larger side. There is a table with two chairs indoors if you cannot eat outside because of the weather, or simply prefer to eat indoors.
The Mountain Mist cabin is stunning, inside and out. It is hard to beat the splendor of fall in the Smoky Mountains. The bathroom looks to be about the same size and configuration as many others that I have seen in tiny houses.
The standout feature is the cabinets, which appear as decorative as they are functional.
The owner writes, “The interior amenities include one bedroom with a queen size bed, one full bath, a low ceiling loft area-great for the kids, futon in the living area and a full size kitchen/dining area. Since there is minimal TV reception many new and popular DVD are provided.”
It is super thoughtful of the owners to provide a selection of DVDs. A lot of accommodations offer DVD players, but most don’t provide anything to watch.
In this photo, you see the loft area, which has been decorated with kids in mind. It is super spacious with lots of extra floor space for playtime. Perched up here with an awesome view out the window, I imagine most kids would be having the time of their lives.
I think if I could stay here during any season, I would go in autumn. So many beautiful colors! But, I can’t deny that the Mountaing Mist cabin looks extra exciting with snow piled around it.
